2026 Manila International Auto Show Highlights

From plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) to hybrids (HEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), as well as good ol' internal combustion (ICE), MIAS 2026 has plenty to offer to every type of buyer. With that, we list the top five cars we believe grabbed everyone's attention and impressed not just with their specifications but also with their pricing.

1.) Jetour G700

Immediately greeting you when you step inside the main hall of WTC Metro Manila is not one, not two, but three units of the Jetour G700. Serving as the brand's new flagship PHEV SUV, the G700 wowed everyone with its 4x4 capabilities and electrified powertrain. Not only does it make a combined 900 PS and 1,135 Nm of torque, but the G700 is also capable of traveling up to 100 km on EV power.

Besides having one heck of a powertrain, the G700 also stepped up in terms of refinement and use of high-quality materials in the cabin. While the T1 already wowed us, the G700 kicks it up a notch with its level of amenities and niceties.

With a price tag of PHP 4,488,000, Jetour's new G700 flagship significantly undercuts the premium brands while offering equal, if not better, levels of features, performance, and overall value for money.

2.) GWM Haval H7 PHEV

Another electrified model that had everyone buzzing is the GWM Haval H7 Hi4 PHEV. Despite only being a preview, the H7 PHEV immediately gathered strong customer interest. In fact, several showgoers have already placed a reservation, as GWM is already accepting pre-orders.

With a 1.5L turbocharged PHEV powertrain, the Haval H7 PHEV combines 4WD capability and the ability to run on EV power up to 151 km. It's also rated to have a combined range of more than 1,000 km and puts out a combined 449 PS with 750 Nm of torque.

Since its reveal yesterday, crowds continued to gather around the Haval H7 PHEV, with some already willing to put down money just so they have a unit reserved before its eventual debut later this year. While the brand has yet to announce its official price, there are rumors going around it might sell for less than PHP 2 million or even way less.

3.) Geely EX2

From electrified crossovers and SUVs, we now move to BEVs. Geely wants in on that segment, and they are previewing the EX2 electric hatchback. With its cute looks, compact dimensions, and spacious interior, the Geely EX2 had all the right looks and all the right features for those who want a zero-emissions vehicle to beat high fuel prices.

There will be a total of two variants, but both will have a single electric motor producing 115 PS with 150 Nm of torque that's powered by a 39.4 kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of up to 325 km. It also supports AC and fast DC charging, which can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in as little as 25 minutes.

Geely Philippines is now accepting reservations for the EX2 with a PHP 5,000 reservation deposit at MIAS 2026. Once revealed, the Geely EX2 will reportedly be priced between PHP 950,000 and PHP 1,050,000.

4.) MG G50 PHEV

MG Motor Philippines held two launches for this year's MIAS, but one of them caught everyone's attention with its electrified powertrain, features, and competitive pricing. Aside from revealing the MG5 Prestige, the automaker also previewed the MG G50 PHEV.

This is MG's answer to the likes of the Toyota Zenix HEV, but significantly undercuts its closest rival by several thousand Pesos, while offering more features and EV range. The G50 PHEV can do up to 95 km on a fully charged battery and can cover more than 1,400 km combined. Not only that, but the plug-in G50 also comes with captain seats for that extra riding comfort.

But what really made the G50 PHEV attractive to customers is its price tag of PHP 1,398,888. Heck, MG is even throwing in a PHP 10,000 discount and a 7kW wallbox charger for just PHP 1,000. And in case the delivery of your G50 PHEV gets delayed, MG will give another PHP 10,000 discount for every month it's not delivered.

5.) Jaecoo J5 HEV

Last but certainly not least is the Jaecoo J5 HEV. With a starting price of PHP 999,000, it's one of the most affordable hybrid crossovers in the B-SUV segment, if not the most. All variants come with a 1.5L turbocharged engine that's assisted by an electric motor, which delivers a combined 224 PS with 295 Nm of torque. It's capable of averaging 18.8 km/L, which gives it a claimed range of up to 1,000 km.

With its Land Rover-inspired design, the subcompact J5 HEV looks more stylish and upscale despite having a starting price of less than a million Pesos. Combined with its go-anywhere-inspired looks, 450mm of water wading depth, 176mm of ground clearance, and pet-friendly cabin, the J5 HEV will surely attract customers who want an affordable, fuel-efficient, and feature-packed B-SUV.

Still not convinced? Omoda Jaecoo Motor Philippines (OJPH) is offering a MIAS-exclusive PHP 10,000 discount on top of the suggested retail price. It also includes a premium accessory upgrade, and a 7-year/200,000 km full vehicle warranty and 8-year/160,000 km electric powertrain warranty.
