Mercedes-AMG is doubling down on its high-performance EVs after it revealed its most powerful zero-emissions vehicle yet.

After being spotted by our spies several times wearing a camouflaged livery while undergoing tests, the cat is officially out of the bag. This is the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and it's an all-electric four-door coupe that looks straight out of Cyberpunk 2077.

With its daring looks, extreme power, and revolutionary concepts, the GT 4-Door Coupe EV immediately grabs everyone's attention. It replaces the twin-turbo V8-powered AMG GT 4-Door Coupe with pure zero-emissions performance, and is aimed squarely against the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.

All of these are made possible via the AMG.EA 800V architecture and a trio of axial flux motors. The result is a combined system output of 1,169 PS and a stump-pulling 2,000 Nm of unbridled torque. What it lacks in engine power, it makes up for in lightning-fast acceleration. Heck, Mercedes-AMG claims the GT 4-Door Coupe can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and can also achieve a 0 – 200 km/h sprint in only 6.8 seconds.

On a full charge, the 106 kWh battery pack can give the super EV a range of over 700 km (WLTP) under ideal conditions. Thanks to its 800V architecture, this electric AMG supports up to 600 kW of fast DC charging. In fact, the automaker claims that a quick 10-minute charge can give it up to 460 km of range, while an 11-minute recharge can replenish the battery from 10% to 80%. It also has a standard 11 kW AC charging port for when you don't need to rush.

Since it's a high-performance vehicle, the GT 4-Door Coupe comes with AMGFORCE S+ mode. It delivers a V8-like sound that's paired with a haptic-immersive experience and includes simulated gear changes. This means it may function similarly to what Hyundai does on the Ioniq 5 N, which also comes with engine sounds and simulated gear shifts that enthusiasts will likely enjoy (or find odd in an EV). Other available drive modes in the high-performance EV include Comfort, Race, Slippery, Eco, and Individual.

To help the car handle the twisties, it's equipped with AMG Ride Control air suspension. It benefits from semi-active roll stabilization and shock absorbers that have adjustable rebound and compression settings. It even has active rear axle steering to help the car turn that much faster when taking corner after corner in quick succession.

Design-wise, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EV looks unlike any AMG model the brand has ever designed. Its massive grille, eye-catching LED headlights, and unique LED taillights are perhaps the most daring design the automaker has penned. Combined with the fastback profile and the adjustable wing in the rear, this high-performance EV is set to turn heads and has that love-it-or-loathe-it look.

Also worth mentioning is the vehicle's cabin, which is a clear departure from the ICE-powered performance models. Like most Mercedes-Benz cars today, the all-electric AMG gets a bevy of high-resolution displays. The driver is treated to a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, while the center gets a massive 14-inch touchscreen media display. Even the front passenger gets their own 14-inch touchscreen, which is available as an option.

Heaps of carbon fiber trim are also present inside the vehicle and are complemented by red highlights, red contrast accents, and high-quality leather upholstery.

Production of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EV will begin later this summer in Europe at the company's Sindelfingen plant. With that, perhaps we can expect the automaker to make it available across different global markets before the year ends or in early 2027.
