John Paul Ang appointed president and COO of Petron
RSA's eldest son, John Paul, now leads the day-to-day operations of Petron as its newest president
Petron Corporation enters a new era after the petroleum company appointed a new president.
John Paul Ang (JPA), the eldest son of Petron's Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang (RSA), has been appointed as the new president and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. This was approved during Petron's organizational meeting last week, which also saw the appointment of its new officers and board members for the years 2026 and 2027.
Under the new role, JPA will oversee Petron's operations amid volatile oil prices and supply disruptions caused by renewed tensions in the Middle East.
Moreover, the appointment of JPA as Petron's new president & COO serves as a restructuring move, separating the role of Chairman & CEO from the petroleum company's presidency and operations management.
Besides serving as Petron's new president and COO, RSA's eldest son also holds several positions within San Miguel Corporation (SMC). JPA is the COO and president of SMC; the president, CEO & Chairman of Southern Concrete Industries; president & CEO of San Miguel Food and Beverages Inc.; vice chair of SMC Global Power; and a director of Top Frontier Investment Holdings.
