It's quite hard to fathom that some cars have been on sale for more than 10 years. Heck, in the Philippine setting, the second-generation Toyota Fortuner has been on sale for nearly a decade while the Mitsubishi Mirage platform is still going strong despite being over a decade old.

To further surprise you, the second-generation Volvo XC60 has been with us since 2017 and recently received a 2025 model year facelift. In fact, we got to review the refreshed version late last year, and we were surprised by how it performed as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) AWD crossover.

Fast forward a year later, and our spies managed to spot what appeared to be yet another facelift of the enduring XC60. That's right, the second-generation XC60, which is already nearly a decade old, could get yet another update, and it looks like it might receive an evolutionary redesign.

The camouflaged XC60 was spotted being tested somewhere in Spain and features a light camouflage livery. Based on what our spies captured, the front fascia will get a redesign, which could see the crossover get an updated grille and LED headlights. The front bumper could also get a makeover to go along with the facelift.

The LED taillights, meanwhile, are covered in black tape, which means they could also get some changes. The rest of the rear could also receive a cleaner look, particularly the back bumper and the tailgate, which appear to get a sleeker look.

Powertrain updates remain a mystery for now. However, there are reports that the XC60 will soon adhere to the stricter Euro 7 emissions regulations. Combined with the fact that Chinese automakers are now capable of making PHEVs that can do at least 200 km on battery power alone, the refreshed XC60 could soon have that ability. That means we could see the Volvo XC60 get a bigger battery pack and perhaps updated electric motors.

With the XC60 receiving a facelift last year, Volvo might hold the reveal of the refreshed crossover SUV sometime in 2027.
