Believe it or not, the fourth-generation Mazda3 has been with us since 2019. Heck, we were at its official launch in the country 7 years ago, and despite its age, it still looks sleek, handsome, and sporty.

We're now in the middle of 2026, and the Mazda3 has yet to receive any design updates or refreshes. However, that doesn't mean Mazda is resting on its laurels. In fact, the Japanese automaker just revealed the 2027 Mazda3 for Europe, and it gets some new quality of life features.

For starters, the Mazda3 is now available with Matrix LED headlights. Not only do they offer better illumination, but Mazda says they're more pedestrian-friendly as they can automatically reduce their light intensity in traffic to reduce glare.

Design-wise, however, the Mazda3 keeps its signature Kodo design language. From the sharp LED headlights to the bold grille, as well as the sporty alloy wheels and the dynamic LED taillights, both the Sportback and Sedan body styles still look sharp and sexy as ever.

Inside, the cabin has been largely carried over from the pre-updated versions. However, the automaker introduced a new gunmetal finish throughout the interior. While Mazda has yet to remove the piano black finishes, the new gunmetal trim accents further give the Mazda3 a more sophisticated look.

There's also a new Homura variant, which introduces plenty of niceties for the European version of the Mazda3. This particular trim offers features such as a 360-degree camera, heated front leather seats, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and parking aids with rear cross-traffic alert.

Other important changes introduced can be found in the Mazda3's i-Activsense suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS). The adaptive cruise control now works alongside the traffic jam assist, which gives the 2027 Mazda3 semi-autonomous driving. Meanwhile, motorcycle detection has been added to the emergency braking assist and lane-change assist for additional peace of mind.

Under the hood, the European Mazda3 is available with the 2.0L e-SkyActiv X hybrid powertrain, which delivers 186 PS with 240 Nm of torque from a four-cylinder engine. It is then paired with either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission. Those who prefer something with a bit more oomph can get the bigger 2.5L SkyActiv-G four-cylinder engine. It produces 193 PS with 238 Nm of torque and is also saddled with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

With the 2027 Mazda3 set to be available in Europe, we can perhaps expect other markets like the Philippines to get it soon. Hopefully, once it debuts in Japan, the Philippine market follows suit.
