Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is available with ARB exterior parts, but will PH get it?

Last week, Toyota officially launched the Land Cruiser FJ in its home market. With a suggested retail price of less than PHP 1.8 million in Japan, the Land Cruiser FJ slots above the Corolla Cross but sits below the Land Cruiser Prado, cementing its place as the gateway model in the LC lineup.

With its boxy exterior, Land Cruiser pedigree, short wheelbase, and tall ride height, the Land Cruiser FJ will be a favorite among 4x4 enthusiasts and tuners. In fact, Toyota has already released a slightly modified version of the SUV with ARB equipment fitted.

The ARB extras are optionally available for Japanese customers, for now at least. But while they may be simple in appearance, it gives enthusiasts and perhaps tuners ideas and inspiration once the LC FJ arrives here in the Philippines.

For starters, it gets a roof rack to carry additional equipment with ease in case there's no more space inside the vehicle. It also has a front skid plate to protect the engine and other important mechanicals from debris or rocks while going off-road.

There are also rock rails on the side, which serve to protect the lower panels from dents, impacts, and other types of debris while hitting the trail. They can also double as side steps when you need to enter or exit the vehicle, as well as access the roof rack without having to step inside the vehicle.

In the future, we won't be surprised if Toyota decides to add more ARB options for interested customers. But with aftermarket tuners already thinking of ideas themselves, the floodgates for modification options for the Land Cruiser FJ could soon break open.

Did we mention that Toyota Motor Philippines already received regulatory approval to bring a passenger vehicle that's powered by a 2694cc gasoline engine? Given its displacement of 2.7 liters and the fact that the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show is only two weeks away, we're keeping our fingers crossed that the Land Cruiser FJ makes its Philippine debut very soon, along with the optional ARB gear.
