Ford Philippines could be preparing a new top of the line variant for the Territory Hybrid

Along with the Everest and Ranger, the Territory is a highly popular Ford model in the Philippine market.

While the current second-generation model was initially offered with a non-hybrid 1.5-liter turbo, Ford Philippines eventually went electrified and now offers the Territory exclusively as a hybrid.

In the current lineup, the Territory is available in the Trend and Titanium X variants. But a new top-of-the-line variant could be on the horizon. Based on the latest Department of Energy’s recognized hybrids, the Ford Territory Platinum has been added to the list.

For now, we’re not quite sure what the Platinum version will look like. But based on the DOE filing, there will be some cosmetic changes found at the front fascia, the roof, the wheels, and the rear bumper, as highlighted on the listing.

If our crystal ball is right, the Platinum version could look like the Taiwan-spec version of the Territory with a blacked-out roof, a different set of wheels, and some black trims on the bumpers.

Still, we could expect the powertrain to be carried over – a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder paired to an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery, making 218 PS and 315 Nm of torque.

The Titanium X is pretty much packed to the brim already when it comes to features, so we can expect the Platinum to have an identical list of equipment, save for some minor differences like interior upholstery and stitching.

The question now is, how much more expensive will the Platinum be compared to the Titanium X? Hopefully, that’s a question we can get to answer in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
