It won't be long before we get to see the Frontier Pro PHEV pickup truck. With Nissan Philippines already confirming that it will be present at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) alongside the X-Trail e-Power, Primera EV, and the refreshed Kicks e-Power, the Japanese automaker will have one heck of a booth at the World Trade Center next month.

But before we even get to lay our eyes on the upcoming plug-in hybrid pickup, Nissan has already released a modified version of the Frontier Pro PHEV, and boy, does it look ready for anything and everything.

This is the Nissan Frontier Pro PHEV Dune Knight Edition, and it's packing quite the equipment. Revealed at the recently concluded 2026 Auto China in Beijing, the pickup truck shows off that it can still take on the rough stuff despite not having a turbo-diesel under the hood.

Unlike the standard Frontier Pro, the Dune Knight Edition gets plenty of auxiliary lights for extra illumination. From the roof-mounted set to the ones placed on the front bumper, as well as the ones on the hood, this pickup truck will not have a hard time seeing in the dark. It also comes with a new front bumper with additional cladding, red tow hooks, flared wheel arches, and a roof rack to carry additional gear.

Speaking of gear, the Dune Knight Edition has also been outfitted to carry motorcycles on its bed. Not only does this demonstrate the plug-in hybrid's ability to carry cargo with ease, but it also gives interested buyers plenty of ideas on what to put in the back. Last but not least, the Dune Knight Edition comes with all-terrain BF Goodrich tires wrapped in gloss black alloy wheels.

With the Nissan Frontier Pro PHEV all set for its Philippine debut next month, we won't be surprised if enthusiasts and customers are already thinking of dressing up the plug-in hybrid pickup.
