GAC AION UT electric hatch launches in PH this May
AION UT will be GAC's answer to the likes of the BYD Dolphin, Geely EX2, and Chery Q
The BYD Dolphin, Geely EX2, and the upcoming Chery Q electric hatchbacks will soon be saying hello to another competitor. Set to make its debut in the Philippines later this month is the GAC AION UT, a stylish battery electric vehicle (BEV) that blends head-turning style, smart technology, and a spacious interior.
GAC Philippines claims the AION UT is poised to bring fresh new energy to the EV hatchback segment with a driving experience that goes beyond its compact size. It features what GAC calls “Milanese Aesthetics”, which highlights a sleek, expressive design philosophy that gives the vehicle a playful yet chic and sophisticated personality.
It gets a distinct pair of LED headlights & daytime running lights, a European-inspired hatchback design, and a carefully curated color palette. In fact, there will be five color choices available: Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, and a two-tone combination of Rococo White + Emerald Green.

Size-wise, the AION UT has a generous 2750mm wheelbase, which translates to a generous cabin space despite its small size. When it comes to carrying long items, the AION UT has flat-folding rear seats to make storing luggage easier. Other specifications are not yet available, although GAC did mention that the AION UT is capable of fast DC charging, which can replenish the Magazine Battery from 30% to 80% in just 24 minutes.
A single electric motor will likely drive the front wheels of the AION UT. Based on what other markets get, the GAC AION UT could make at least 135 PS with more than 140 Nm of torque. On a full charge, GAC's sleek new EV could be rated to cover more than 400 km.
Stay tuned for more details for the upcoming launch of the GAC AION UT hatchback.
