The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is already confirmed to launch soon in the Philippine market.

At this point, most prospective customers (and us) already know what to expect in the upcoming baby Land Cruiser, as we witnessed the model’s world premiere at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, and its regional debut at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show.

Throughout those major motor shows, the Land Cruiser FJ was presented consistently as a five-seater SUV underpinned by the IMV platform. It has a part-time 4WD system with an electric rear differential lock, and while a turbodiesel powered version is in the works, for now we’re getting the 2.7-liter 2TR-FE gasoline version.

However, we know what most people are curious about, is the pricing of the Land Cruiser FJ when it lands in the Philippines. Here’s what we found out – the Japanese market SRP suggests there’s a chance the new FJ could retail for just a little over PHP 2 million.

Toyota just launched the Land Cruiser FJ in Japan, and it retails for JPY 4,500,000 (PHP 1.76 million) in current exchange rates. What’s interesting here is that it’s significantly cheaper in Japan than in Thailand where the new FJ is being made. At the Land of Smiles, the new FJ starts at THB 1,269,000 (PHP 2.42 million).

Aside from the exchange rates, different tax structures between the two countries may have been the reason for this, as while the new FJ passes as a locally made product in Thailand, it’s a non-hybrid so it still gets a higher tax rate compared to electrified vehicles.

That said, the new FJ is positioned between the Corolla Cross GR-S and the mid-spec Fortuner in Thailand. If PH market follows the same structure, then we may see the new FJ have a price tag between PHP 2 to 2.2 million. Hopefully, the speculation ends at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, where we could expect Toyota to launch the Land Cruiser FJ.
